The Hurricane is the longer version of the Tempest but although both pistols have boastfull names they are of average strength. These pistols are Classics and most probably the ancestor of the Weihrauch HW 45. The accuracy is good for garden plinking, a coke can is no problem at 12 yrds. The barrels have beautifull rifling but catch rust easily at the cocking hinge ( sweaty hands ).This pistol is a collectors item and a Hurricane or Tempest in Mint condition ( in the Box ) is quite valuable.

I bought this in 1977 and ordered a Beeman 1.5 power scope for it.

The scope has never been adjusted since 1977 but the pistol is still accurate enough to hit cans at 50 feet.

I changed the breach seal last month but there was no increase in power as the old one was still OK.

The trigger is not smooth and it’s pull is heavy. This can be improved if you take the trigger apart and polish the contact surfaces. It’s a springer so you need to hold it loose and even then it’s not very accurate. The upside? I’ve had mine for about 20 years with no problems. I find it easy to cock and load. I like it’s unique looks. Most important I enjoy shooting it.
