I bought my T4 new, but couldnt get it to function properly. It fires one pellet and the rest are misaligned. Open the gun and loose pellets fall out. The T4s in the video training all seem to work perfectly. The store owner who sold it couldnt make mine work either. I thought Crosman would fix their new, defective guns, but the closest repair place is out of state.

Quite a mixed bag for reviews over the internet for this gun. First I’ll mention that I bought this gun because I grew up holding the Crosman name with high quality products. This still stands true. This gun, replicating the Glock 18 law enforcement pistol, is designed for plinking and paper targets. Keep that in mind. It’s a great looking gun, has a good feel to it (comes in at around 1.5 – 2 pounds) and has good power (430 – 450 fps) FOR WHAT IT’S INTENDED FOR. I have had no problems with it, although the release lever for the powerlet (in the grip) has a bit of a cheap feel to it. If you stick to Crosman pellets, Crosman powerlets, and drop a dab of Crosman pellgun oil onto each new powerlet for lubricating maintenance, then this gun should give you years of shooting fun. It even has a Weaver accessory rail on its underside for a red dot sight.

This is without doubt the worst pistol (i very nearly called it something else!!)that i have ever owned- even the simplistic and crude gat gun is an improvement on this worthess piece of scrap, i presume the design crew at Crosman were all on holiday and the janitor designed this gun in their absense!!

I can’t get more than three pellets to exit the barrel per mag of eight 🙁

It looks as though the indexing pawl is fouling the pellet as with each and every pellet that doesn’t go down range, there is a small dent on the pellet head that is identical in shape to the pawl (the bit of steel that pushes the mag round for the next pellet to align)

Be very wary if you’re looking for a multi shot Co2 pistol and don’t buy this one as it seems to be a lottery whether you will get one that works or a really useless lump that is only fit for the trash!!!

As you may know here in the UK we have really bizarre gun laws, our government no longer permits us to possess harmless plastic replica guns such as a Glock 17 but strangely this ban does not yet extend to airguns (anything over 1 ft / lb in power) (which includes CO2 guns) so this Crosman T4 is a legal way of owning a Glock replica (i know someone calls it a Springfield) but to all intents and purposes its a Glock. Lovely gun to fire, no problems. Sadly spares including magazines completely unobtainable here in the UK – rare as hens teeth springs to mind.

I just bought my Crosman T4. I’ve used it for about a total of 20 hours and I’m already frusterated with it…

I’ll start with the pros.

The gun is solid and has a good feel to it. It’s easy to learn how to work it. I like the cocking slide it gives it a more relistic look and feel to it. You can fire both bb’s (4.5mm) and pellets (.177 4.5mm). The noise is moderate and it gives off a little smoke for visual effect. Gives the impression that it has some power to it. The weight is managable, coming to about 17 oz. (.48 kg). It fires a 8 shot clip and comes with an additional clip. The manual it came with was detailed and easy for a beginner to understand.

The cons.

It’s not that great of a gun yet they charge you like it’s made of gold. The first few hours it seemed fine.. then it slowly became worse for jams and misfires. So often that it seems ridiculous. It was so bad that 4 out of 8 shots were misfires or jams. This is the famous crosman quality I’ve heard so much about… pfff! I can understand the odd one like once in 16 shots but this is insane. It’s hard to aim down the sights. Also the manual informs you that you need a ramrod and a certain type of oil in order for proper maintanence. I mention this because it’s misleading… I bought the kit that was presented to be ready to use, and yet I need these other items.. (the oil was recommended but the ram rod seemed to be a must because of all the misfires and jams in the barrel). I heard that some people had come up with creative ways to get it working with less misfires and jams… i.e. cleaning the barrel and clip. Buying and experimenting with other brands of ammo (I have a hard time imagining this because it’s rare to find a seperate company out do another at their own product). One guy even created a machine to take each pellet individually and widened the skirts so they would fit better (the belief being that there was too much air getting by and it wasn’t tight enough to the wall which has some truth to it).

My recommendation is unless you have time to try and trouble shoot the fireing mishaps (and if you do please let me know) then don’t buy it… It’s too much buck for not enough bang! The frustration being if your shooting and birds and squirrls of say a cherry tree like I have then having to stop every couple shots to try and unjam can get a bit annoying especially with birds and squirrls mocking you while they feast on the cherrys.. Which is one of the reasons why you bought it in the first place. If you bought something to do a job and it doesn’t do it well enough then it’s a bust and right now this is looking like it. Only get this if you have the time to figure it out and the cash is burning a hole in your pocket… I’m sure there are similar guns that are better out there.

I just hope that the reason behind the misfires and jams are mostly human error do to inexperience rather than production flaw because personal error is easier to fix.

All I can choose to believe is that it needs to be cleaned and that will solve the problem.

The Crosman T4 is no world class target pistol nor is it a top notch hunter. I never check the fps as I only shoot BBs and with an 8 shot clip running Co2 its a great gun to pop soda cans in the backyard to beat back the boredom. The cost is a bit high at 145.00 I think for the same money a better gun can be had for less money or a gun of the same quality and pleasure could be found.
If I was to look for a multi-shot again I would not buy this gun as the cost is too high for what you get but at the same time I have no regrets its a good gun

I was not disapointed with this pistol, but thats because I already knew it was plastic. It shoots strong at roughly 460fps, it looks very real but does’nt feel real at all. Accuraccy is hard to come by with these plastic double action pistols, but this does better than many i’ve seen, it’s co2 bay is very original and easy to use. I found it to lose co2 very quickly. All in all i think that if you can afford to buy co2 frequently and you can get past the fact that it’s plastic then you’ll really like this gun.
