Bought .177a on the basis of reviews. As arrived the latch hooks were not even. Way off. One side hooked the other side did not. Sometimes the cocking cover would unlatch with the recoil.

Filed the latches and got it working.

I enjoy shooting my BSA240 pistol. It takes practice to master the recoil. The overall length is 8.75 inches. The discharge is quick and quiet. The dark, black finish is even and exudes quality. The sight picture is clean and sharp. The barrel is mirror bright and sharply cut. I prefer shooting my BSA240 over my Beeman P1 simply because it is smaller and the power disparity is insignificant. The wood grip lacks a trigger finger support, and that is only thing I would change on this beautiful English air pistol. Too bad it is out-of-production. I wish I’d purchased the .22 caliber version.

What a pleasure it is to shoot this beautifully made gun.It is powerful , accurate and very handsome. It is a real shame that its no longer made. The beeman P1 is not worth the cost and is not as well made.Find one used if you can.
