Got my version of thi gun as a factory reman. Gamo usually does a good job with their remans and this gun is testimony to this fact. Smooth cocking and shooting cycle, decent trigger and deadly accurate with the correct pellet if you do your job. My example likes RWS super domes,Crossman premier match grade and seems OK with Gamo Hunters.

Shoots these pellets across my Chrony in the low to high 900fps range. Why a four instead of a five rating you ask? Good question and here’s your answer. Even though the trigger on this example of this rifle is good Gamo it still is not that good. Long first stage and heavy pull and so on. The fix is easy. Buy and install a Charlie the Tuna “GRT II” trigger and problem solved. Next the loading lever suffers from a little over travel which makes loading a little fussy until you get the feel for it. I came up with a simple cheap solution for this problem and if the gun came to me this way it would have been a five. It didn’t and it is not. That said with the mods made and the $135.00 paid it is now one of my favorite springers and as I move towards PCP guns I will keep it. Good springers have a charm that is unique and will always be enjoyed.

Pros: Hard hitting, simple, super accurate, inexpensive, durable, looks good.

Cons: Stock sights are a joke, especially the rear. Replace it with something made out of a cardboard toilet paper tube and some cling wrap from wallmart and i’ll be an improvement. IMHO they should just ship this gun without iron sights since its so stinking accurate with a nice scope (I note that Pyramid Air now only sells the CFX in a scoped kit). Trigger is a little rough as well, but there are kits that can improve that. The loading ramp can take a little getting used to, but I think that’s more of a learning curve issue rather than a design flaw.

Overall a fantastic gun, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

Like all undelever guns it is not quick to re-load & the action is fiddly with 4,5mm pellets, often they spin around in the load ramp. However, with a decent scope fitted accuracy is excellent over range up to 55metre. It will bust a bottle at 55 metre with GAMo Match pellets (flat nose). Trigger action is not the best. I can not say what the muzzle energy is yet, but I will test in future. The gun is finished very well, smooth cock action & no “twang” from the spring. All round so far I am happy with the purchase. Other guns I have include BSF B55 (first gun), BSA, Weihrauch 80, Diana 13. The Gamo CFX is as good as the German guns.

bought one in .22 caliber, not to accurate at first but I bad to play with pellets. took it to small bore range and then i could test if it was the scope or myself. found once i used diablo ammo which is consistant group. There seem to be many brands to choose one but the gamo is quality from but end of barrel. I would love to try the .177 I had a russian vostok when a kid would like to compare the .177 as i allways found that incredible.

Bought this gun as a factory reman.Gamo does a fine job with their reman program.Frankly I think my example rivals the average “tuned” gun.The shooting cycle is smooooth and it is a tack driver.I am sure when I am shooting this gun I am the weak link.I paid $135.00 plus S&H and got a good one piece mount/scope stop and a cheap scope. The trigger was good Gamo but when I realized what a sweet shooter I had I replace it with a GTR III trigger. The addition of the trigger made this gun the best performing gun I have for overall performance and that includes my German airguns. My example is very pellet particular and RWS Powerdomes are it’s favorite but if I want to shoot on the cheap it will shoot nickle groups at 30yds.with Crosman HPTS. all day long. The only down side to this gun is it’s a bit of a pain to load if your in a hurry. That’s about it.Do you need this gun in your collection? You absolutely.
