I am writing this review as recommended because my experience with this air gun ended ok. I bought this gun cheep as it was a return from a dissatisfied buyer. When I started shooting it I found out why. When I aimed the gun I could see that the sight was far to the left and angling slightly to the left. Even with this extreme sighting it was still hitting the target way right. the power of the air gun is a little low too. I removed the barrel and rolled it on my work bench, it was bent.(A condition that I have found commonly on cheap Chinese air guns) With a couple of wood blocks and a C clamp i straightened it out. Now it groups well and on target.Fit & finish is ok. Still a little weak. I shouldn’t have to do so much to a gun to get it to shoot straight but alls well that ends on target.

I own a .22 QB79 Using it from new was a bit sluggish, once tuned & with a decent scope will beat my s200 and

logun solo for handling fun and ease of charging

Downside can get expensive if using for target or plinking

but for the price with the mods a brilliant back up rifle.

Mods i would recomend valve, better hammer spring, take 30thou of the part 0200, put a metal barrel band on,

with a bit of time spent cleaning all the rough edges

this is a good investment if your in the field and your no: 1 gun fails you. In conclusion not a rifle for a youngster as it can be expensive because you will only get 20 shots per charge with the mods but its light and with a breaker it becomes a whisper when fired at present

my .22 is averaging 675fps in the English Damp weather

Can not tell you what it will do on a hot day we dont have them in England. Hope the info helps.

The QB 78 is made by Norconia, which is well known for low priced guns in a wide range of categories (Government clones, lever actions, airguns etc). When it comes to firearms Norconia usually makes the lowest prices models in a category (for example .22 lever action rifles), that usually (probably as a result of the low price) are not the most accurate and best looking one can find. Finish usually is quite crude.

The QB Deluxe which I own is a pleasant exemption. Its price is lower than many other CO2 rifles, yet is looks well made, has an excellent and pleasant stock and is surprisingly accurate. Surprise really is a key word; I did not expect this gun to be so accurate and group so nicely. It’s one of the most pleasant airguns I’ve ever shot with.

You may want to note a few minor points as well. Out of the box, the rear sight had to be screwed downwards on my specimen, as the gun shot way too high. I still need to aim a centimeter below target at 15 meters to get the bullets in the bullseye. The factory recommends to wipe the metal surface of the gun after each session, to prevent damage to the finish. And as I have had this gun for only a week, I cannot comment on its durability. It’s quite a bit noisy as well; it not only holds like a .22 rifle, but to outsiders may sound like one too.

In general my first impressions are very postive, especially given the price and factory’s reputation.

I have the QB78D (Deluxe). I have not had it long so this a first impression. I received the rifle in spotless very fine condition. You would think it was from Germany or other European maker. It shoots the Gamo Hunter Pellet at 650 fps. Is not too pellet fussy. About 50 or so shots from the two 12g cartridges. Accurate, likes the Gamo Hunter and Premier Dome the best. I will bulk feed it as soon as I can get an adapter for it, which seems to be scarce right now.. It is a favorite.. F Nash
