I bought this air rifle about 5 years ago as an impulse buy for target practice. For $20 bucks it was a steal! Granted, when I bought this gun. I wasn’t expecting this thing to preform. When it was unboxed, it was oily, there were burrs all over it. But, a little cleaning and de-burring and this thing really preforms! All it was going to do was “kill” a couple of soda cans. Well, after it blowing through the soda can targets, we tried something with a little more heft. (4 old license plates) And, it blew through those.  Well, needless to say. We had a go with shooting pests around my home. (Sparrows, rabbits, and squirrels.) Everything we shot with this rifle dropped. Now, it is my regular squirrel hunting rifle. It will bring down a squirrel at 15-20 yards with ease. I highly reccommend this rifle for anyone who is in need of cheap pest control.

Their fine for rats size target! But go for the head or heart. And use the 22 version for hunting rather than the 177. Out of box the .22 will do 6 to 7 foot pounds. And if you clean up the insides, and put in a stronger spring it will do better. Theres tons of information on the Internet on how to do that

I purchased this gun and it gets a very bad rap from mostly everyone, but I’m telling you this gun is a beauty for the price and I have even taken down down a possum with it no problem whatsoever.as far as accuracy I wouldn’t trade this gun for the world and its power is very surprising to me after reading all of the negative reviews concerning this diamond in the rough. Mine is a 22 caliber. My only complaint was both sights rear and frontal were leaning in opposite directions and require about 30minutes to fix. Other than that I would sleep with this gun.

Built rugged with steel and hardwood . Is a classic Chinese style. Good for back yard can plinking. Fun gun for the price at about $50.00 to$60.00. Does not have the power to hunt small game at more than 30 yards.

At least the piece that I received was horrible on the shooting deparment. I just wasted $40.00 including shipping by buying this junk from South Summit. The website has no information about its warranty, I should know better. Called customer service and the lady the technician will not be back for two as he is out on a “gun show”.

Out of the box the air rifle B3-1 seems very well made, packaging was ok minus the fact the box was NOT sealed. So who knows if this was refurb or returned item. All metal parts tighten accordingly, no rust anywhere, no tampered or stripped bolts. The only main issue is this rifle is useless. The shots are about 1 feet away from the sight. The rifle is seriously off, could be bent, could be bad barrel internals. Did spend a good amount of time cleaning the barrel, lubing parts, etc to see if maybe that would help, but nothing changed.

Want to waste your time trying to fix this rifle paper weight then go ahead purchase it. I pass, for a few bucks more and less than 100 bucks could have purchased a Crosman Titan or Storm, lesson learned!

I bought mine from a traveling gun show and received very little info about it.This is the first time I’ve actually known it’s name,Chinese B3-1.I guess now I can stop refering to it as my AK-177.The overall best feature of this gun is the ease of cocking.I still don’t know the power rating( ? FPS).My guess would be between 700-800 FPS.

My three rating is a value rating, as received without any tuning this rifle is about a 1.

I have owned three of these, all purchased from Cummins Tool. I bought 1 two years ago and 2 more a month ago. The first cost $20 and the second two were $25 each.

PROS: Cheap. Can you get a steel and wood air rifle anywhere else for $25??? Easy to tune and improve dramatically.

CONS: The stock finish is abysmal, but it’s wood and you can refinish or paint. The sights on all three were crooked: the front sight on two of them was tilted about 10 degrees to the right and the rear sight on all three was crooked about 5 degrees or so. The front blade is pinned to the barrel – so it is a major project to correct that (but it can be corrected) and the rear sight is spot welded on so there is virtually nothing you can do about that (use a cheap scope?). The gun shoots terribly until tuned according to RWS method. The recoil and roughness is so bad that it’s challenging to get any kind of groups. That being said, the gun is so bad that it responds well to basic lube and tune and can be improved a lot.

MAJOR CON: On one of the three guns the barrel was so crooked that the gun shoots 2 feet to the left at 25 yards. I invested three hours tuning this gun before I discovered this neat feature – that gun is being returned.

RECOMMENDATION: If you want to tinker and learn tuning then this is a cheap way to do it. I would buy two from Cummins and keep the best (or both if you’re lucky).

Great all weather weapon. Day and night; open sights less than 40 yards shooter. Secured one 4 years back at a local Pawn shop in Dallas for $50.00. Was in real great condition. Taken down Armadilo(2), crows ( 20+ ), squirels ( 12) , possums (2) , tree rats ( 20+), raccon ( 1).

Head shots only. very humane.

.177 pellet sits perfectly in the throat. One downside, trigger squeeze force tends to vary. I need to open the housing to check. Needs hardly any keepup. Sand does not affect. My fellow mil friends love this weapon ! Yes, its made in China, but does the job very effectively and humanely. REcoil force can be felt slight, if you greater than 45 degree from horizontal during discharge.

I have had my B3 for a month now, and I love it I have had very little experience with air guns before this but I found the rifle very easy to disassemble and tune. This rifle has become a great hunter/plinker and will continue to get plenty of use.
