I ordered in one of these beautie’s from SouthSummit last year for less than 30 buck’s, I wasn’t expecting a “Match” shooter, But I certainly was impressed with what showed up at the door. Very Nice stock with a deep finish that really shined. As with all “Chinese” hardware, a little work need’s to be done to get it up to spec’s, First thing I did was change the spring, clean & lube the internal’s. This shooter now give’s me 600fps w/ Crosman Field Point’s, and 625fps w/ H&N SpitKugeln’s, and Close to 800fps w/ 11gr. RWS HVP’s(Skenco’s), and 825fps w/ the *New* .22 Gamo Raptor’s, and it’s a Tack-Driver to upwards of 35yd’s. The one, and only thing that bother’s me about this gun is it’s lack of a safety, But It certainly put’s the owness back on the shooter to make sure nothing happen’s. For the money this is an Excellent a/g, that will definately put dinner on the table. Cheer’s, and Happy Huntin’, Andy.

“Price Dependent” Remarkable gun!

Edited South Summit description;

“NOT SO BEAUTIFUL MONTE CARLO STOCK!!

Same powerful gun as B2-1 but with improved Monte Carlo Stock and buttplate and a manual safety. Powerful one stroke barrel cocking air gun. Hardwood stock, grooved for scope, and adjustable sights. Steel barrel with rifled bore. Comes boxed with useless instruction book.”

That about sums it up!

But…

Most Important this 43″ gun is light accurate has a decent trigger and adequate power.

I tend to favor accuracy and the way a gun feels to be more entertaining over power anyway.

From past reviews I’ve read and the gun I just recieved I’d have to say Chinese quality is still improving. I did find some lacquer drips and rough edges but if you don’t mind cleaning it up a bit? Given it’s at your door price of under $40, I think it’s a steal

I have owned my B2 for almost a year now when I got the rifle I was not expecting it to be anything specail as they can be bought for under 30.When I first saw the rifle I was very disapointed with the quality of the wooden stock it was very rough and didnt have a good finish the stain which had been used looked like thick brown paint it was a mess.

I was lucky enough to of been bought the B2 custom stock as a gift which is much better the quality of the wood and the finish is excelent and looks realy smartly finnished off with the checkerd grip and forend its even finished of with a plastic butt pad.The blueing of the barrel is realy good it has a nice dark finish.

The iron sights on this gun are not the best but you can get by with them if you have to I took them off and fitted a good quality Red Dot sight. The end of the barrel looked weired as I had removed the front sight so I fitted a muzzle break which finished off the barrel great but now looked way to long so I decided to cut the barrel down to 9inchs.

I used a hacksaw to cut it and recrowned the end I refitted the muzzle break and now it looks like a different rifle its now a lovely looking carbine.Shortening the barrel has caused no loss of power it actually improved by 1fps.I heard rumours that opening the Transfer Port can improve power so I read my mates air gun book(Gerald Cardew from trigger to muzzle)This is an excelent book if you can get hold of it buy it its full of usefull tips for increasing power I oppend up the Transfer Port from an 8th of an inch to 316inch I also fitted a new breach seal and pisston head as the original ones were made of lever.

once the gun was reasembled I put 10 shots through it and I was impresed I now had a rifle to be proud of I put it through my buddys chrony before any modification to the barrel or Transfer Port the gun was producing 6.5fps since shortening the barrel and oppening the port the rifles power is now ranging between 9.5fps to 10fps this is a massive improvement.

The only real downside with this gun is that it has no safety at all the sear has to be checked regularly to check its not worn as the gun can go off on its own which is quite a shock when ur not expecting it. Anyone considering buying a cheap .22 rifle could do allot worse than the B2 with a few easy mods you can achieve great power gains.END.
