Bought this gun from a local hobby shop here in South Africa . Was very impressed with the power. First hundred or so shots were all over the place. I was not impressed the trigger but found a easy fix on utube and a quick trip to my local hobby shop to buy a 5mm X 9mm bearing
has now fixed the trigger but issue . over time the grouping seems to be settling in. As for power useing hyper velocity pellets it punches a hole through one side of a 40gallon Oil drum . Scope is ok but I think this argue will be very accurate with a better quality scope .

Well, looks like I got a monday sample? Made in China, yes. It shot very widely spread, and the scope came loose all the time. I did disassemble the rifle and made some grinding on the muzzle, took out one spring in the trigger, and tightened down the scope, and now it is decent, but not good. So now I have ordered a new scope from Nikko, and will do some more work on the trigger, and hope it will be much better. It is btw a .177, and I use only 10gr lead pellets. Alloys are far too fast and do tumble when going subsonic.

Not for the weak or faint of heart!!

Most of us that have purchased this rifle are used to lighter weights all over, to include the trigger pull. Well this is a Man’s Man’s Air Rifle. The weight of the stock and assembly with barrel are the only thing that keep the raw power harnessed and prevent violent recoil. To reduce trigger pull simply polish the sear and trigger assemblies. Makes the rifle much more pleasant to fire. **********DO NOT ATTEMPT TRIGGER WORK UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!! CHANGES WILL VOID WARRANTIES AND RENDER THE RIFLE UNSAFE!!!***********

That being said the rifle fits very nicely to the cheek and the open thumbhole stock is truly your friend. Be careful when gripping though, a tad too much and your shot will fly left or right. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! Fire about 200 lead pellets to get it good and broke in before trying to snipe or hunt vermin with it.

The 3-9×40 CP scope is very nice but, will require initial mounting break in as well. The scope may move at first and the rings will want to loosen up causing you to be all over the place. Do not get frustrated. Pick up some locktite and simply apply to the end of all the scope mounting screws, tighten screws, fire 20 to 30 more pellets and then tighten screws again. The end results will amaze you. Now, when sighting in your scope, do so at about 50 yards but get on paper at 10 25 and then fine tune 50 to your center croshair. Once you get it perfectly where you want it, you need to reset your windage and elevation knobs. Do this by loosening the two small phillips head screws and free spinning the dial back to “0”, then simply retighten the screws and repeat on your windage or vice versa. This will not affect your “zero”, but is simply realigning the bands to give you the MOA adjustments as needed at different ranges and wind speeds, then turn it back to “0”. Right back to your original zeroed setting!

Overall rifle is a great package, but dump the cheap sling and get a padded one!!!

Happy shooting!!

I recently acquired the .25 CAL (XL1500). A very nice shooting gun for the price. Has a bit of kick. As to the accuracy, at 20 yds it was not bad out of the box initially. After about 25 shots it started to stray a bit. I checked the scope mounts and noticed the screws on the scope rings were loose and the scope had slid about 1/2 – 3/4 inch. I attribute this to recoil vibration. I removed the screws, applied loctite & tightened up. No issues since. Also gave the bore a good cleaning. Now getting quarter size groups at 20 yds everytime I shoot.

Purchased the .177 caliber. At first gun was very loud and shots strayed all over the place. I researched issues on internet that folks were experiencing with the gun and discovered that majority of people found the gun quieted down after 100+ shots. Others also experienced shots straying but found that if they used heavier pellets shot placement dramatically improved. I experimented with various pellet types and discovered to my great pleasure that both of these recommendtions worked well. Turns out the major problem with the loudness was that the alloy pellets are faster than the sound barrier. This causes the gun to sound almost as loud as a .22 caliber rifle. However, lead pellets are slower and do not break the sound barrier, thus very quiet. The slower lead pellets also improved the accuracy trememdously. In addition, pellets with ticks on the tail portion improve accuracy. I believe this is probably due to the ticks catching the rifling in the barrel and improving accuracy. Overall I am very satisfied witht the gun.

Just a regular guy that likes shooting.

i purchased this gun approx 4 months ago. I am not at all disappointed. Shooting lighter/ normal weight pellets will make the gun louder. It will go super sonic. Use some crossman 10.5 grain pellets and it stays below the sound barrier. Build quality is very good and weaver scope mount is an excellent idea. I understand what others have said about it being a terrible trigger. I can’t say that i much like it either, but it does take some getting used to. It is a long trigger pull. Accuracy is very good. The gun out performs my shooting ability. If i miss the target, chances are it was probably me, not the gun. I’ve been very happy with it.

This gun is very noisy and has a hell of a recoil. I sent the first one back, andvthe replacement was worse! It’s advertised as 70% quieter, but it doesn’t say what it is quieter than. My ears ring after 2 shots. All critters scatter after the first. Leave this one alone.
