Well, here it is May of 2017 and my Baikal MP514K .177cal rifle is still going! I have been searching for magazines for how many years now???….Still shoots great.  Still accurate….Still getting those rats. Up to 287 of them little critters !! No break downs, no worn out parts. This is a great Russian made airgun. Shoots a bit harsh but really fun to shoot. To bad they stopped making them. If you can find a used on…buy it !….everything is easy to replace on them. Have to make the parts but they are easy to make. I have had two of these for over 5 years and one has broken a couple of times but the one I got from Russia is the one that keeps on ticking>>>>

Well, here it is 8 months later and this rifle is still kicking them out one right after the other. Since I one dropped the trigger pin it has not come out again. Have put about 2000 round through is since my last review. Still hitting hard and on target. Dime size at 15 yards every load. If you have a chance get one ! Still no one stocking extra magazines. See that they have put a RED barrel on the newer ones. Mine is Black with light Blue stock as are the ones sold in Russia. Haven’t changed the spring as yet. Read some reviews that there are other springs that will give you more power. I am satisfied as it is for the time being. FUN GUN TO SHOOT !!!

This rifle I have had before they were imported to the U.S. It is very accurate after you put a red dot scope on it. Fun to shoot. Mechanical insides are very well made. Only had one problem and that was with the triger pivot pin. It came out two times and locked up the cocking arm ratchet. But it was a easy fix by putting a small drop of one drop glue on the fat end of the pin. The ratchet system is a great safety factor. No smashed fingers on this one. Multi-shot is also a great feature. Just a great rifle to hold and shoot. You have to hold it loose to get close grouping. Not sure what the volocity is but at 10 yard it don’t take long for that round to get there. DON’T use BBs in this rifle. That was another problem with indexing with the bb magazine. Works best with flat faced pellets. Pointed pellets are a No NO in this rifle. I only use Gamo Match in mine and they work great. Accurate and no jam problems. Just wish that someone would stock extra magazines for this rifle. If you own one email eveyone that sells this rifle and tell them to stock extra magazines! The Russian have a great design here and I am hoping that they will product one in .22 cal and a longer barrel with more power.
